Shamanism
![]()

As a Celtic Priestess these are my words that sum up how I feel about being a priestess & Shaman, I work with both as one.
Both Wicca & Shamanism have enriched my life
and I have the greatest respect and reverence for them.
I have been shown so many wonderful things, shared much laughter and joy of friendship, opened my heart to the beauty of the Goddess within, cried with healing for myself and for our Mother Earth.
I walk in the path of Awen,
of the sacredness and vitality of life.
To be in the flow of the Changing seasons,
to know the different elements,
to be in the moment and wonder of a ritual.
To be in the passion, love of Awen.
To see the beauty in another human.
See our ancestors faces, in the sacred
standing stones.
To see the birds fly, to hear the different animals,
to watch plants and trees change with the seasons,
to watch and feel the power of the Sun, Moon and the Stars.
To feel the rain and wind on your face,
which make you feel alive with spirit of essence.
To feel the beat of the earth mother under your feet ,
to be so connected that you feel the changes of the seasons within every part of your fibre,
your whole body can feel the subtle changes,
even down to your toes you can feel the energies!
You feel totally empowered that you feel as ONE, with all.
From the smallest grain to the tallest tree to the small field mouse,
you feel the magic of the cosmic web of life flow through you,
all is one.

This is a few brief words on the way I live my life.
This is my experiences of both wicca and shamanism, a blend of the two. This is about living your life in sacredness everyday.
It is a way of life, a way of living and being, it makes you think about your actions upon life and upon Mother Earth and you and me.
Blessed be
Sharon-Denise

Shamanism
![]()

Shamanism is as old as, 50,000 years if not more.
Animism is the back bone of Shamanism.
animism: belief that natural objects possess souls.
A Shaman is someone who has a acquired his or her knowledge and skills from the spirits of: the land/trees/birds/stone people/the four legged/the two legged/the water people/Plants/Stars/Moon/Sun/elements/the ancestors who have gone before and Grandfather Sky and Grandmother Earth.
The Shaman stands between worlds, with one foot in this world
and the other foot in other worlds,
he is the mystic, warrior of the cosmic web of life, for the Shaman
travels to many spirit lands.
The animals are his guide, for he is an animal too:
The Shaman is the shapeshifter,
he is the wolf, the Eagle and the Salmon.
He is the vision bringer, the dreamer of visions.
the true walker of the worlds, he brings harmony
and the sacred songs, from great spirit.
The Shaman is the keeper of the land, he is the dancer of the four directions and brings their healing ways to our hearts.
The shaman is the voice of all things that have animism.
The Drum and Rattle are his sacred tools.
The Shaman has been known by other names:
Medicine Man/holy man/witch/cunning man/wise man/
Medicine women.
The Shaman will journey to other worlds via the world tree, by traveling up and down the tree, for wisdom/healing/lost soul parts and more, he will do this for the individual or for the community.
The Shaman journeys to other worlds using the world tree.
The world tree has three levels:
Upperworld - The Branches of the tree.
This is the celestial world.
Middleworld - The Trunk of the tree.
The Here & now! Us!
Underworld - The Roots of the tree.
Mother Earth, the Faery Folk,
plant people
stone people.

To do this the Shaman enters the "Shamanic State of Consciousness," which is a trance state.
This is induced by shamanic drumming which carries the shaman on the beat of the drum, to the other worlds.
A part of the shamans soul, actually goes off on the journey.
The Shaman is a skilled healer for he has built up a knowledge and relationship with the "herb people."
With his Shamanic medicine, he is able to perform rituals for Shamanic extraction or Soul- retrieval.
Different types of shamanism is cultivated depending on cultural background and the land we live in.

PRIESTESS
![]()

There is some differences between Wicca and Shamanism.
But to me wicca has the golden thread of Shamanism running through it.
Wicca is the ancient craft of the wise and is
from the time of the standing stones.
A true wiccan is someone who has been initiated into the tradition, whether that be in the Alexandrian, Gardnerian, Celtic or other,
they then become a priest/priestess.
This is a vocational pathway of the ancient priest/priestess for those who are devotional to the old Gods and our ancient mother, this is a sacred path of the wise, keepers of the old ways and of the turning of the sacred wheel the sacred sabbats.
The role as a priest/priestess is in divine service to the Gods and to Mother Earth.
It is a vocation, of love and respect to Mother Earth and life.
Living and blending, working with the Magic of nature, and with ourselves, to bring the sacred harmony of Awen to our hearts and to our fellow man.
To embrace the magic of our spirituality.
Wicca is a ancient craft of the wise,
of healing/herbs/blessings/magic/wisdom/love and peace.
Wicca is about sacredness of all living things, and acknowledgeing the masculine and feminine, which is portrayed in the God & Goddess.
Wiccans work in a sacred circle for ritual/magic/celebrations of the sabbats and the 3 phases of the Moon.
Wiccans work with many divine Gods & Goddesses.
Wiccans work to protect Mother Earth.
Wiccans believe in personal responsibility of ones own actions,
that they harm none.
